Short answer: for scalping, the deciding number is the all-in cost per round-turn lot (spread plus commission). On published headline rates, Vantage's Raw ECN commission starts at from $6.00 per lot round turn, while Exness Raw Spread charges up to $7.00. Exness Zero publishes a commission of from $0.05 each side per lot, which is a minimum and not the rate for any specific pair, so you cannot work out a Zero cost per lot from the headline alone. Check the live specification for your instrument before you decide.
This guide covers what each broker publishes, how to compute cost per lot, a worked example, and what a scalper should test before funding an account. For the full list of Exness account types, see Exness Account Types: Standard, Cent, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero Compared.

Why the Exness Zero commission needs care
Exness describes Zero as spreads from 0.0 pips, with zero spread on its top 30 instruments, and a commission from $0.05 each side per lot. The word "from" matters: $0.05 is the lowest rate, not what you will pay on every pair. We therefore do not put a Zero cost per lot in the comparison below. Open the contract specification for your exact symbol in the platform, or the Exness page, and read the commission there. Also note Exness says spreads on those instruments can rise above 0 during high volatility, which is exactly when many scalpers are active.
Vantage's spread is a third-party figure
Vantage does not publish a spread figure on the pages we checked. ForexBrokers.com measured an average EUR/USD spread of 0.127 pips on Raw ECN, plus the $6 round-turn commission (ForexBrokers.com: Vantage review). That is a third party's average, not a Vantage quote. At $10 per pip per lot, 0.127 pips is about 0.127 x $10 = $1.27 per lot. We have no equivalent verified measurement for Exness, so the two cannot be compared on spread from sourced data.
How to calculate scalping cost per lot
- Pip value: EUR/USD is $10 per pip per standard lot (100,000 units).
- Spread cost = spread in pips x pip value x lots.
- Commission = per-side rate x 2 sides x lots.
- Cost per lot = spread cost + commission.
You can check pip values for other pairs with our Pip Calculator.
Worked example: 1 lot of EUR/USD
This is an example, not a quote. We use the same hypothetical spread of 0.3 pips for both brokers, so only the published commissions differ.
- Spread cost: 0.3 pips x $10 x 1 lot = $3.00
- Exness Raw Spread: $3.00 + up to $7.00 = up to $10.00 per lot
- Vantage Raw ECN: $3.00 + from $6.00 = from $9.00 per lot
On these headline rates the difference is $1.00 per round-turn lot. Because Exness Raw Spread is quoted as an upper limit and Vantage as a lower limit, your actual difference could be smaller, larger, or reversed. Confirm the rate on your own account.

Scaling it to scalping volume
Suppose you trade 50 round-turn lots in a period. Commission alone is 50 x up to $7.00 = up to $350 at Exness Raw Spread, and 50 x from $6.00 = from $300 at Vantage Raw ECN. The $1.00 gap per lot becomes $50 across 50 lots. High-frequency scalpers feel this more than swing traders, but the spread you actually receive can move the result by a similar amount.

Gold example
On XAU/USD one lot is 100 oz, so a $0.10 move is $10 per lot (some brokers count $0.01 as a pip, so check the contract specification). With a hypothetical spread of $0.20: 2 x $10 = $20.00 spread cost. Add commission: up to $27.00 at Exness Raw Spread ($20.00 + up to $7.00) versus from $26.00 at Vantage Raw ECN ($20.00 + from $6.00). Use the XAUUSD Pip Calculator to size your own trade. Commission is a smaller share of cost on gold than on EUR/USD, because the spread cost is bigger.
Beyond the fee table: what scalpers should check
- Scalping rules: we have no verified information on either broker's scalping, minimum holding time or order-frequency rules. Read the terms and ask support in writing.
- Spreads in volatility: test during news and rollover, not only quiet hours. Exness itself says Zero spreads can rise above 0 in high volatility.
- Slippage and execution: neither is covered by the published figures. Run a small live test and compare fills against your platform's quotes.
- Platforms: Vantage offers MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 and TradingView, plus its own web platform and mobile apps, but not cTrader (ForexBrokers.com: Vantage review). Check the Exness platform list on its website.
- Swaps: if you ever hold positions overnight, swaps vary by instrument, direction and broker and are shown in the platform's contract specification. We do not quote swap rates.
- Leverage and margin: Vantage's leverage ranges from 30:1 in the UK and Australia to 1000:1 or 2000:1 at its offshore entities. Higher leverage lowers margin per trade but does not change your risk per pip; see Exness Leverage Explained and our Margin Calculator.
Regulation, deposits and who can open an account
Exness entities are regulated by the FSA (Seychelles, Exness (SC) Ltd, licence SD025), the FSCA (South Africa), the CBCS (Curaçao), the FSC (BVI), the FSC (Mauritius) and the CMA (Kenya). The FCA and CySEC entities accept professional clients only, and the global site does not serve UK or EEA residents, nor residents of the USA, Canada, Russia and Belarus (Exness website footer; Exness Standard accounts page).
Vantage holds licences from ASIC (Australia) and the FCA (UK), plus the FSCA, CIMA, FSC (Mauritius) and VFSC (Vanuatu), and does not accept US residents (ForexBrokers.com: Vantage review). Your protections depend on which entity you are placed with, which depends on your country. Verify the entity name and licence number on the broker's own site before depositing.
On deposits, Exness Zero and Raw Spread have a region-based minimum first deposit (the Help Center says at least 200 USD depending on regional requirements), whereas Vantage lists $50 for Raw ECN. See Exness Minimum Deposit for detail.
So which is better for scalping?
The published data does not support a single winner. Vantage's headline Raw ECN commission (from $6.00 round turn) is lower than Exness Raw Spread's ceiling (up to $7.00), but Exness Zero's commission varies by instrument and we cannot rank it without the live rate. Real spreads, execution quality and each broker's trading rules can outweigh a $1.00 per-lot commission difference. A sensible way to decide:
- Write down the pairs you scalp and your average lots per day.
- Read the commission and spread for those exact symbols on each broker's account or demo.
- Compute cost per lot with the formula above, using spreads you actually observe.
- Compare over a week of demo or minimum-size live trading, including news periods.
