FAQ
Forex Trading Costs FAQ
Short answers on forex trading costs, lot size, how forex rebates work and how Blocktechpro is paid. Broker figures come from the brokers' own pages or named reviews; confirm them on the broker's site before you trade.
Forex rebates
What is a forex rebate?
A forex rebate is money paid back to a trader for each lot traded. The broker pays a partner (introducing broker) a commission from the revenue the trades generate, and some partners, called rebate providers, pass part of it back. Blocktechpro is not a rebate provider and does not pay rebates.
Does a rebate change my spread, commission or leverage?
It should not. The rebate comes out of the partner's commission, so your account keeps the same conditions as any other client of that broker on the same account type. If a provider asks you to accept wider spreads, that is not a rebate.
Can rebates make a losing strategy profitable?
No. A rebate lowers the cost of each lot, but every extra lot still costs you the spread and commission minus the rebate. Trading more only to earn more rebate increases what you pay.
How Blocktechpro works
Does Blocktechpro pay rebates or cashback?
No. Blocktechpro is an affiliate of the brokers we cover: when you open an account through our links, the broker pays us a commission and we keep it. It does not change the spread or commission you pay.
Will you ever ask for my password, account number or a deposit?
Never. Never share your trading or email password with anyone, and never send money to someone who promises you a rebate or a profit.
Which brokers do you cover?
Exness, Markets4you, IC Markets, XM, Vantage Markets. Our reviews show the account types, costs and licences each one publishes.
Trading costs and risk
Standard or Raw account: which is cheaper?
Add spread cost and commission per lot for each. A commission of $7.00 per round-turn lot equals 0.7 pips on EUR/USD ($10 per pip), so the Raw account is cheaper only when its spread is more than 0.7 pips tighter than the Standard spread at the same time.
How do I work out my lot size?
Decide how much you are willing to lose on the trade, then divide it by the stop-loss distance times the value per pip of one lot. Our calculators do the arithmetic for forex pairs and gold.
Is forex trading with these brokers allowed where I live?
It depends on your country. Some regulators restrict or warn against offshore brokers, and several brokers refuse clients from certain countries. Check your local regulator and the broker's list of restricted countries before you open an account.
