How we check broker data
Written by the Blocktechpro Research Desk. This is the method behind our broker guides, starting with the Exness guide.
1.One source and one date per figure
Every broker figure on our broker guides (minimum deposits, payment limits, spreads, commissions, licence numbers) is stored once in a data file with three things: the value, the page we read it on, and the date we read it. Pages pull the value from that file and show the source next to it. A number that is not in the file cannot appear on the page.
2.Official pages first
We read the broker's own pages and the regulator's pages first. When an official page cannot be opened from our side, we either use a named secondary source (and say so) or leave the figure out. We never fill a gap with an estimate.
3.Unverified means draft
If a page needs a figure that is not verified yet, the page is published as a draft: it is kept out of search results, left out of our sitemap, and it lists the figures that are still missing. It becomes a normal page only after the data file has a source and a date for every figure it uses.
4.Things only a real account can show
Processing times, the spreads you actually get and the deposit screens differ by country and by account. These are marked as needing our own test; until we have run that test and recorded it, we quote what the broker says and label it as the broker's claim.
5.Country rules come from regulators
Legal pages quote the regulator or the law, with the source. We do not call a broker safe, legal or licensed in a country unless a source says so, and draft rules are always labelled as drafts.
6.No star ratings
We do not score brokers out of five. A score hides the inputs, and the right broker depends on where you live and how you trade. Instead, each broker guide answers one question at a time: which entity would hold your account, what it costs to start, and what each account charges per lot.
7.Automatic checks before anything goes live
Before a broker page is built, a script checks that every figure comes from the data file, that the page covers one question only and does not duplicate another page, that the affiliate disclosure, risk warning and last-verified date are present, and that banned claims (such as promises of profit) are absent. A page that fails is not published.
8.How we make money
Some brokers pay us a referral commission when a reader opens an account through our links. That is our only income from brokers. We do not pay rebates or cashback to traders, and brokers cannot pay for a better position on our pages.
Found a figure that is out of date? Tell us through the contact details on our about page and we will re-check it against the source. See also our disclaimer.
